Carnaby Reserve – Jan 2019

As spring draws to an end so does the spectacular spring display of blooms in the Reserve. However the odd splashes of colour can still been seen. It is lovely to see the signs of so much healthy new growth and the many new seedlings, emerging as the cycle continues.

The plentiful rains have assisted and ensured that plantings earlier this year in the Northern or Shenton Road end of the Reserve have been most successful showing much new growth. Our thanks to our wonderful volunteers who have relentlessly weeded over the last seven months to allow these seedlings and other areas within the Reserve to thrive.

Jarrah trees are once again commencing their bi-annual masses of blooms, much to the delight of the many bees that these flowers attract.

The Zamia palms are obviously enjoying this year’s conditions by producing these wonderful fruit filled flowers which remind me of pineapples.
